The Artist

Three years ago, my amazing girlfriends, gave me a piece of art that I can honestly say spoke to me in a way no other piece of art ever has in all my years of life. I was a stay-at-home mom and although I felt blessed in those moments, I was a social being to the core and I longed for time with my girlfriends, a glass of wine[or 2 3] and some uncontrollable laughter.

Since then, this painting by Kathy Womack has hung in my kitchen. Every time I look at it [and I spend a lot of time in the kitchen], I am reminded of some of the best times of my life.

Girlfriends are the foundation of sanity. They just plain, "get it." They understand the "crazy", the emotions and the bitching. They want to "go there" with you and they'll bring you back...every time.

They'll tell you you're wrong in a way that makes you want to hug them.

They'll praise your good deeds in a way that makes you want to please them.

They'll listen until their ears are burning and their eyes are tearing from exhaustion and you'll just want to love them for it.

My girlfriends have been through a lot, both in their own lives, but also with me. If I could take the moon and the stars out of the sky for them, I would. The depth of gratitude, my now "lightness of being", is because of the unending support of these women.

When I look at the art by Kathy Womack I am reminded of my girls....

I contacted Kathy and she graciously agreed to let me showcase her talent on my website. I am so grateful, for if I was an artist, I could only dream of talent like this.

For your dearest friend who has everything...this would be the perfect gift!

For the one who took your kids so you could re-connect with your husband, this would be the perfect gift.

For that person you overlook everyday in the mirror; the one that cooks the meals, cleans the house, does the laundry, oh and raises amazing children that will contribute goodness to the world... what a gift to give yourself!

I hope everyone who is stirred, as I still am, every single time I see my painting…I hope you can own a wonderful piece of unbelievable talent that will make you appreciate the true gifts that are...

your girlfriends.

In the world of the “Internet”, we are all neighbors. These are some I visit often, with my coffee, and enjoy a few moments of time with friends I don’t even know. Isn’t technology amazing?
